He met with the relatives of the taxi driver who was kidnapped on Thursday on the East Coast Demerara by a group of men who demanded a $5M ransom.

Five days after his sudden abduction, there has been no sign of the victim, even though the Anti-Kidnapping Unit with support of the police have conducted massive searches in several villages between Buxton and Victoria.

His car PGG 3846 in which he was driving at the time of his abduction was found abandoned on the Annandale Railway Embankment on Thursday.

Relatives said that after Nandalall received a call on his cellular phone to do a pickup at Imax junction (not far from his home) he has not been seen since, they later learnt he was abducted and held for a $5M ransom.

The relatives of Nandalall made an appeal for his safe release yesterday as all contact with the kidnappers have ceased.

When the Guyana Chronicle visited yesterday several relatives met with Mr. Neil Kumar and expressed their concern.

Present were the victim's grandmother who made a desperate appeal and statement for the safe release of Nandalall and his fiancée also made an appeal on television.

Even though a $1M ransom was paid the kidnappers have not contacted the family since and have turned off Nandalall's cell phone.

The atmosphere yesterday was tearful, as many relatives could not contain the tears that flowed from their cheeks whilst neighbours gathered to comfort them.

PPP/C Region Four Member of Parliament, Mr. Neil Kumar, visited the residence of Nandalall to convey the party's concerns over the incident and assured them of full support for the safe return of the victim.

In a statement the party once again strongly condemns all such criminal activities and supports the law-enforcement agencies in their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. Ronald Gajraj, who has been in regular contact with the family, that the Guyana Police Force's Anti-Kidnapping Unit is taking necessary measures around-the-clock toward the safe return of Nandalall, has assured the PPP/C.
