STATE Counsel Jo-Ann Barlow from the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who is prosecuting at the preliminary inquiry (PI) into the murder charge against the policeman accused of killing University of Guyana (UG) student Yohance Douglas, was reported ill yesterday.

Consequently, Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen, who is presiding, adjourned the pre-trial proceedings until December 2.

Police Constables Mahendra Baijnauth and Gerald Alonzo are facing a joint charge for the capital offence following the fatal shooting of Douglas in Sheriff Street, Georgetown, last March 1.

Baijnauth alone faces another charge of attempting to kill Ronson Gray, who was among those travelling in the same car with Douglas that tragic day.
