ACME photo yesterday achieved another first with the launching of their Digital Imaging Expo at Le Meridien Pegasus as they celebrate their 68th year of existence.

The Savannah Suite took the form of a reception and International Technological Trade Fair, as waitresses offered fruit punch and finger food amidst the colourful balloons and high quality posters on the walls depicting the latest technological equipment now available in Guyana.

Those attending the Expo were able to interact with numerous resource persons and get a first hand view of the operation of the new digital equipment.

Guests were also treated to exhibition of a wide range of innovative choices for mounting pictures and were given ID cards complete with picture and personal information done digitally in their presence.

During a brief ceremony the owner of Acme Ms. Bebe Ramkissoon attributed Acme's success to her father Ashraf Ali for his passion, his drive and determination, to ensure that Guyanese were exposed to the world of Photography back in the 1930s.

She noted that Acme has grown today and encompass every day life and promised that with the help of her son Paul Ramkissoon, to strive to continue the pattern that her father left when he died.

Minister of Tourism Manzoor Nadir who declared the Expo open hailed Acme as pioneers in the photographic industry in Guyana.
