A THREE-MEMBER committee formed to investigate the disappearance of two boxers while on their way back from the Pan-American Box-off has concluded.

Boxers Duane Crandon and Eusi Watkins absconded while on their way back to Guyana, in Miami, and have not been heard of since.

They were at the time under manager/coach Lennox Daniels.

The findings released by president of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) K. Juman-Yassin have cleared Daniels on any involvement in the disappearance of the two.

Yassin said that Daniels was not to blame for the action of the two boxers.

The committee comprised Noel Adonis from the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), Charles Woon-A-Tai from the Guyana Karate Association (GKA) and Fitz McLean, of the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association.

Details given by Daniels state that he left to go and confirm flight arrangements from Miami back to Guyana and upon his return he found only Ryan O’Neil, the third boxer on the team.

Daniels said that O’Neil told him that the two had gone to pick up something, but after waiting a considerable time, a report was made to the authorities.

The whereabouts of the two are not known.

The boxers had earlier failed to qualify for the Pan-American Games.

Yassin, a few months ago at a press briefing, stated that the action by the two boxers was a slap in the face and it caused much embarrassment.
