TONIGHT is Old Year's Night and most people have already decided how they will usher in the New Year. Some will be in church, some will stay home with the family sharing the traditional pot of cook-up rice and other goodies, while partygoers will be ringing in the New Year on the dance floors of popular discos or clubs.

Proprietrix of Clairan's, Mrs. Claire Pires, told the Guyana Chronicle that her store is stocked with items for every ensemble - from the evening gown right down to lingerie.
According to Mrs Pires, a customer would be able to put together an entire outfit for just $18,000. Some evening gowns are priced as cheaply as $8,000 each. And today, there will be a 25 per cent to 50 per cent discount on all evening gowns.
Trying to do away with the traditional gowns in preference to something else? Then you can choose from a wide range of J-Lo jump suits and pantsuits, which are also suitable for the occasion.
Shoppers can also find a variety of shoe styles with matching handbags. Other important accessories available include designer colognes, earrings, necklaces and makeup kits.

Romona: - "Well I plan to go to church, because since I've known myself I've always gone to church. I will then go home and spend some time with my family, while enjoying some of the traditional cook-up rice. As for my Old Year's night outfit, I secured it since August!"
Dennis Nunes: - "I will go to church with my family and ring in the New Year eating some cook-up with them. Afterwards, I will be heading down to the Everest Cricket Club Ground to party."
Marlon: - "You know I will take a walk to church with Mom and then go and shake my waist a bit and think about the New Year's Day football (match) in Linden."
Yonette O'Neal: - "I will be going to church at the National Park, for which I already have my outfit. Afterwards, I would go across at a girlfriend's home and simply hang out."
Liz: - "I don't know. I mean I am 50/50. One minute I am saying that I will go to church and the next I plan to go out. But there is a 60 per cent chance that I will go out."
