Mother of ten denies stealing textbooks

A mother of ten who allegedly stole several textbooks from the CCS Store appeared in court yesterday.
Thirty-seven-year-old Karen Forde of Mandela Avenue appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen and pleaded not guilty to a charge of larceny.
Forde denied stealing ten Junior English textbooks, totalling $10,575, property of the store last Friday. According to reports the accused walked into the store on Camp Street and placed the books under her clothing.
It is alleged that while Forde was leaving the store, she was searched by a security guard and the books were found.
She was detained and later charged following investigations. She has to return to court on November 18.
