The national Under-23 football team continues to be a welcomed irritation to the pockets of the Guyana Football Federation.
Following its recent pro-pulsion into the second round of CONCACAF Olympic Qualifier, the Under-23s has snarled $200,000 from the GFF’s coffers.
The GFF has mandated that any national team winning a game of an international competition be rewarded with $50,000 while the federation has set aside a prize of $200,000 for qualification to a next round. A sum of $10,000 is also awarded for each goal scored by the locals.
Last month the side collected $90,000 for defeating Barbados 4-1. The team will collect its prize soon an official of the GFF said yesterday. (Steve Ninvalle)
