Several officials from the United Kingdom-based gas and oil company, British Gas are in Guyana for talks with the Petroleum Unit of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission.
Prime Minister Sam Hinds told Stabroek News yesterday that the team was here to review and update its information on the potential prospects for gas in Guyana. He explained that based on the information the team received, its technical knowledge and the commercial information available, British Gas would be determine what its position on Guyana would be.
The Prime Minister said British Gas’ main focus was natural gas but that it would exploit any oil that came with a gas find.
