The PNCR says recent remarks made by Chairman of the Social Partners grouping, Dr Peter deGroot suggesting the PPP/C helped scuttled the group's initiative, probably stemmed from the group's private meetings with the party.
PNCR central executive member, James McAllister at a press conference last week said his party had always welcomed the initiative, adding that throughout the process they had given full support to the group.
Last week PPP/C General Secretary, Donald Ramotar had told a press conference that deGroot's remarks were poorly timed and misrepresented the party's position.
DeGroot had told diplomats at a luncheon last month that the PPP/C appeared to be fearful that the Social Partners would become a third political force.
Ramotar said the initiative's failure was more to do with the constantly changing positions of the PNCR.
