Iwokrama's chairman resigns

The resignation of the Chairman of Iwokrama, Professor Ian Swingland, was announced yesterday by the International Board of Trustees of the Iwokrama International Centre for Rain Forest Conservation and Development.
A press release from the Board of Trustees said he had served in that capacity for just over a year, and during this time he has refocused Iwokrama on its original mission to be self-sufficient and has generated substantial international interest in the institution.
The appointment of a successor to Professor Swingland will be made as soon as possible, the release said.
