Quacy Heywood appeared in court yesterday to take the witness stand again in the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the death of University of Guyana student Yohance Douglas.

Twenty-year-old Heywood was cross-examined by attorney-at-law Compton Richardson and Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos. A new witness will be called when the inquiry continues on January 13.

Heywood had previously taken the stand on December 2 when he gave his evidence to State Counsel Jo Ann Barlow from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He was also cross-examined by Richardson who is representing accused policeman Gerald Alonzo.

Alonzo and Constable Mahendra Baijnauth have been charged with the unlawful killing of Douglas on Sheriff Street, Georgetown on March 1.
