Undoubtedly, the PNC/R is very effective at mobilizing and organizing street protests and picketing exercises at the drop of a hat. They apparently have a very good infrastructure when it comes to these sorts of things.
They were very quick to organize the picketing outside of the Ministry of Home Affairs, ostensibly because of the unsubstantiated allegations by Bacchus.
Some wonder, however, if the picketing wasn't planned in advance to try to distract public attention and memory from the events of January 12, 1998 - another day of infamy in their calendar, when the Court decision was given in relation to the swearing in of President Janet Jagan.
