Dear Editor,

When I joined the PPP in the early 1970s it was impressed upon me that criticism and self-criticism and revolutionary morality were two of the basic principles that underpinned the conduct of all party members.

That senior members of that movement can now display abhorrence for criticism and self criticism reflective of a 360 degrees turnaround reveals how far they will go to protect their 'turf'. Sad indeed. But sadder still is that this propensity has forced the resignation of Khemraj Ramjattan, one of the most talented minds in Guyana and one of the few persons whose integrity and truthfulness I will vouch for with my neck on the block.

I await the final outcome of this charade but promise that there are people who are getting ready to expose the machinations of some of these senior leaders.

Yours faithfully,

Annan Boodram
