THE City Treasurer's Department of the Mayor and City Council yesterday announced the start of a "vigorous" campaign to collect outstanding taxes owed by property owners in Georgetown.
As such, the Mayor and City Council (M&CC) is urging all property owners to pay their taxes to ensure the integrity of their accounts.
A statement from the Mayor's office indicated that officers from the M&CC are also distributing demand notices in certain areas including Agricola, Turkeyen, Cummings Lodge front land/Atlantic Ville, Pattensen front land, and Liliendaal/Sophia front lands. According to the statement, other sections are scheduled for next week.
The Mayor and City Council said it needs these outstanding sums to effect drainage works, road repairs, street lighting and to provide other critical services that are necessary in the City.
It is urging all property owners to pay their taxes to ensure the integrity of their accounts.
