Another five deported

THE Office of the Commissioner, Police Headquarters, Eve Leary, yesterday released the photos and particulars of five new deportees.
The particulars are as follows:
Gobin Sookram, 27, of Lot 18 Airy Hall, Dundee Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, deported on 2004-03-11 from the USA for assaulting a peace officer.
Sookram departed Guyana legally in 1994 for the USA and in 1998 he was arrested and charged with assault of a peace officer.
He appeared in court and was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
After completing his jail term he was released into Immigration custody and later deported.
Simon Samaroo, 24, of Lot 541 F Waterloo Street, Bath Settlement, West Bank Berbice, was on 2004-03-09 deported from the USA for sale of narcotics.
Samaroo departed Guyana legally in 1990 for the USA. In 2000 he was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics. He appeared in court and was sentenced to two to six years imprisonment. Due to good behaviour he spent six months imprisonment and was handed over to Immigration and deported.
Diaram Dhanieram, 24, of Lot 64 Number Two Settlement Blairmont, West Bank Demerara, was on 2004-03-11 deported from the USA for assault.
Dhanieram legally departed Guyana in 1998 enroute to the USA. In 2003 he was arrested and charged with assault. He appeared in court and was sentenced to one-year imprisonment. On completion he was released into Immigration custody and later deported.
Patrick Bethune, 37, of Rohaman Street, Number 78 Village, Corentyne Berbice, was on 2004-03-11 deported from the USA for the sale of narcotics.
Bethune departed Guyana legally in February 1986 for the USA.
In 1993 he was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics. He appeared in court and was sentenced to six years imprisonment. On completion he was released into Immigration custody and later deported.
Vishwadeo Sanichari, 26, of Lot 27 "A" Ramphal Street, Williamsburg, Corentyne Berbice, was on 2004-03-11 deported from the USA for burglary and accessory to commit a felony.
Sanichari departed Guyana legally in 1980 for the USA. In August 1988 he was arrested and charged with burglary. He appeared in court and was sentenced to five years imprisonment. On completion he was released. In July 1999 he was again arrested and charged with accessory to commit a felony. He appeared in court and was sentenced to five years imprisonment. On completion he was handed over to the Immigration department and deported.
