The driver of the car in which University of Guyana student Yohance Douglas was killed continued his testimony in the Chief Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Teacher Ronson Grey, of Lot 2201 Layou Street, North Ruimveldt, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen last week and took the stand again to give evidence against policemen Gerald Alonzo and Mahendra Baijnauth.

Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos resumed his cross-examination of Grey who was also shot in the incident that took place on Sheriff Street on March 1 last year. Both Alonzo and Baijnauth have been charged with the unlawful killing of Douglas. Baijnauth also faces separate charges of attempting to murder Grey who was wounded in the jaw in the incident.

Prior to the testimony yesterday the doctor who treated the witness for his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital gave evidence on the matter. Dr Youdha Narine was questioned by State Prosecutor Jo-Ann Barlow and De Santos.

The preliminary inquiry is to continue on January 27 with testimony from O'Neil King who was also a passenger in the car when the tragedy occurred. The other occupant of the vehicle Quacy Heywood testified last year.
