Finance Minister, Saisnarine Kowlessar, says his ministry will work towards putting measures in place to jump start the economy this year.
Speaking with Stabroek Business on Friday, the minister acknowledged the need for a menu of measures to give the economy a shot in the arm especially in light of indications that the economy's growth last year measured below one percent.
"We need to put measures in place (to spur the economy)," the minister said.
Kowlessar also said that he expects to present the 2004 national budget in parliament in early March.
