The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) is talking with the authorities in Trinidad and Tobago to have that island's senior national team play a friendly international match here early next month.

GFF President Colin Klass said although there has been no confirmation there is a 70 per cent chance of the game coming off. "We have been negotiating and I must say that at the moment it looks promising. We are working hard to make it a reality."

The game is scheduled for March 7 and earmarked for the Blairmont ground in Berbice. It would be Guyana's only international before they play their second game of a home-and-away tie against Grenada in the CONCACAF World Cup preliminary.

Confirmation on the game is expected by weekend. Meanwhile, Suriname-based striker Anthony `Awo' Abrams has been drafted into the senior national camp and is now one of the 26 players vying for a place in the final 18 to travel to Grenada tomorrow.

Abrams arrived from Suriname one week ago and was hauled into the side after dapper Under-23 striker Devon Millington was ruled out following an injury sustained while playing in a club match at Thirst Park.

Millington was not one of the 18 players selected to play the friendly international against Barbados in Bridgetown just over a week ago and used the time to play at Thirst Park.

Technical Director Neider Dos Santos applauded the efforts of Abrams during practice sessions. "I accepted Abrams for the quality he had shown during practice. He is a very good player."

Dos Santos disclosed that the team for Grenada will be named tomorrow morning after the final practice session. Guyana play Grenada on Saturday in the first of a home-and-away tie of the World Cup qualifier.

The return game is scheduled for March 14 at the Blairmont ground in Berbice. If Guyana get past Grenada, a home-and-away tie against the USA is next in line.

The seniors have only played two warm-up matches since being encamped approximately one month ago. They defeated a GFL XI 2-0 then travelled to Barbados to beat that island's senior side by the same margin.

Midfielder Neil Hernan-dez scored one goal in each of the games.
