The PNCR wants the preliminary report of last year's national census to be made public immediately.

Speaking at the party's weekly press briefing yesterday, central executive member, Raphael Trotman said the PNCR understands also that the information from the census has not even been tabled or discussed at the board of the Guyana Bureau of Statistics.

Chief Statistician, Lennox Benjamin could not be contacted yesterday for a comment on this claim.

Trotman told reporters that his party did not accept the assumption that the results of the census and the analysis of the results are a political matter or one in the preserve of the government's discretion.

"The results of the census or any analysis available thereof are in our view of national importance and should be in the public domain as soon as they are available," Trotman said.
