The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) yesterday continued its investigation into the cocaine bust on Sunday at the Guyana National Shipping Corporation (GNSC) wharf where 3.25 kg of cocaine was found.

Yesterday, though officials at CANU were silent, Stabroek News learnt that the ten-member crew is still in custody and there has been no new development into the bust. Officials could not say when charges are going to be laid.

On Sunday, sources had told Stabroek News that acting on a tip-off officers rushed to the wharf just before midday and intercepted the ship, Inger B, which was expected to sail to a Caribbean destination the same afternoon. The cocaine was discovered packed in plastic bags in the ship which belongs to Anral Shipping.
