The Suriname government over the past weeks has been intensively preparing the answer to Guyana's claim filed at the UN Maritime Law Tribunal in Hamburg, Germany, regarding the boundaries dispute, the English bulletin of De Ware Tijd reported on Thursday.
Matters were expected to be concluded on Thursday with the international experts who will be assisting Suriname, Foreign Affairs Minister Marie Levens told the Suriname daily.
However, for the time being she did not want to divulge details of the closed meeting that was held with Parliament regarding the border dispute with Guyana. But the Suriname foreign minister said that Parliament had been informed as extensively as possible about this issue and the steps the government had taken and has yet to take, the newspaper said.
