‘SIMPLY Irresistible 11’, the newest collection by local fashion designer Sonia Noel, will be launched in the Savannah Suite, Le Meridien Pegasus on July 4, 2004.
According to a news release from Mariska’s Designs, this year’s show will be ten times classier than last year’s. Models from Guyana, Suriname, Grenada, Barbados and the United States will appear on stage in several segments including `Mother and Daughter wear’, `Outrageous Sixties’, `Pretty in Pink’, `Fantasy’ and a pregnancy line. Part of the proceeds from the Le Meridien event will go to the Joshua House Children Centre.
The release also said that the show will hit the road from July 10. On that day, Simply Irresistible 11 will be in Berbice. Dates for the Linden and Bartica, shows are yet to be confirmed. Part of the proceeds from the Berbice show would go towards the Berbice Anjuman Orphanage. Other charitable organisations are still to be identified for assistance from the other two shows.
The designer and her models are also to tour Suriname, Grenada and Barbados in August, September and November, respectively.
Tickets for the show are available at Rayon House of Fashion, Upscale Guyana Restaurant; Mariska’s Designs and costs $1,500.
