ST JOHN'S, Antigua, (Reuters) - West Indies captain Brian Lara will miss the first one-day international against England on Sunday after aggravating a finger injury in his record-breaking innings of 400 in the fourth test.
Lara was off the pitch for more than an hour on the final day receiving further treatment to a dislocated finger and doctors have advised him to rest the injury for 10 days.
Lara will definitely miss the first one-dayer in Guyana and is likely to be out of contention for the second and third matches of the seven-game series, played back-to-back inTrinidad on April 24 and 25.
In his absence, Ramnaresh Sarwan is set to captain the side in Guyana, although Lara will travel with the squad.
