Wanted man, Neil Bovell has returned to haunt residents of Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara, but this time apparently with an injured leg.

Bovell who is originally from the said area has been on the run since last year September.

Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday a resident said Bovell was recently spotted limping on one leg. The resident said from all indications Bovell had fled the village for a few months but now that things have quieted down he has returned home.

He had caused a number of young women to flee the village out of fear. Most of these young ladies have since returned to the village.

Other villagers who spoke to this newspaper said Bovell's presence in the village could cause anarchy.

Police chasing Bovell last year had accidentally shot and killed Eustace Small a 70-year-old pensioner of Stanleytown. That was the closest Bovell came to being arrested and since then there have only been reports that he is still in the area.

"People are still afraid once they know he deh round they would continue to be fearful," the resident told this newspaper yesterday.

Asked whether the police still made checks for the fugitive in the village, the resident answered in the negative.

Residents had shown this newspaper numerous unfinished houses where Bovell was said to be living.

Bovell is wanted for allegedly killing his reputed wife, Phillipa Harrison during a domestic dispute and for questioning in relation to the murder of Vernon Bernard, who was burnt in his home, and the abduction of Bernard's daughter.

According to the villager a vigilante group was formed late last year to help apprehend Bovell, but he had gotten wind of it and had stopped moving in the open.
