On June 1, the Central Tender Board will open tenders for the rebuilding of the boys' dormitory at President's College.
A release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) says Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Ganga Persaud, stated that the ministry received approval from the Ministry of Finance to apply for selective tendering for works to the dormitory. Persaud said the Social Impact Amelioration Programme (SIMAP) database was used as a guideline for the process.
The dormitory will retain its original design. On April 26 a fire of apparent electrical origin ravaged the dormitory destroying assignments, text books and displacing 101 students.
