The Private Sector Commission (PSC) will be hosting an introductory workshop on the hot topic of corporate governance on June 18 and 19 at the Georgetown Club.
The Commonwealth Secretariat is providing technical assistance via the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance (CACG).
The CACG is providing three experienced facilitators for the workshop which will be patterned after similar workshops held in Jamaica and other countries. The workshop is targeting chief executive officers, members of boards and other senior executives and will cost US$300 per person.
The workshop will look at what is corporate governance and why it is important; boards' charter, mission and functions; evaluating boards and making them more effective; the role of corporate governance in promoting economic development and competitiveness, CEO, management and the board; financial reporting to and by the board; legal issues germane to governance; and boards' role in formulation of strategy.
