The teacher accused of sexually abusing two female students at a city school is to proceed on leave pending investigations into the allegations.
The North Ruimveldt Multilateral School's administration has been instructed by the Ministry of Education to send the teacher home, a Government Information Agency release said yesterday.
The ministry is in the process of identifying an investigation panel to inquire into the reports and the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) will take the necessary decisions once the probe is completed.
Allegations of molestation recently surfaced about the 35-year-old teacher in connection with two young students of the school.
He was arrested on Tuesday after a report was lodged at the East La Penitence Police Station by a parent but has since been released on station bail while police investigations continue.
