Big sell-off leaves market down 1.5%

Trading volumes picked up significantly during October's third session but only served to worsen the losses which have seen the market fall 5.8% from its end of August high.
Four of the seven stocks which traded saw their averages down for the day - DTC by 4.9%, NBI by 3.4%, DIH by 2.3% and SPL by 2.0%. GSI and DDL bucked the trend with their averages up 3.4% and 1.4% respectively. BTI traded level. Not surprisingly the index closed down 15.1 index points to close at 1,017.5 or 1.47% on the week.
