Overseas-based Guyanese robbed

BETSY GROUND, EAST CANJE – Bandits attacked and robbed an overseas-based Guyanese in Betsy Ground, East Canje as the other occupant of the house concealed himself.
Reports out of Berbice stated that 69-year-old Ganga Singh was robbed of a suitcase of clothing and other paraphernalia along with $60,000 and some of his documents. According to police the incident occurred at about 00:30 hours on Friday. Two masked men reportedly armed with a hand gun and a cutlass elevated themselves on a shed and broke a window to gain entry.
Singh put up a struggle but was over-powered. All this time Kumar Sunchara remained hidden under a bed.
