32 footballers in preparation for September 2007 Olympic qualifiers

A squad of 32 footballers selected by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Technical team began the first round of preparations for their September 2007 Olympic qualifiers.
According to a GFF release the squad is made up of the following players: Maurice Prince, Shemroy Arthur, Ronson Williams, Devon Dummet, Sherman David, Seon Lewis, Sylvester Alpha, Kanata Manning, Eddie Gomes, Quincy Madramootoo, Dwight Peters, Vernon Mills, Velon Thorne, Andrew Murray, and Lumumba Hinds of Georgetown; Kelvin Smith of East Coast Demerara; Colin Bowry and Adrian Adams of Berbice; Derrol Dainty, Carlos Monkhouse, Javin Crawford, Randy Small, Glenorvan Edmonds, Quacy Johnson, Francis Primo, Shevanie Seaforth, Romain Haynes, Alestor Johnson, Jaffar Monroe, Julian Davidson, Owen Williams, and Alwin Adams of Upper Demerara.
The squad will be encamped at the Palace DeLeon Hotel, Public Road Kitty for the duration of the training programme.
Guiding the squad in this first preparation stint will be head coach Paul James, assistant coach Bilal Nantambu and assistant coach, goalkeeping, Denzil Thompson. Working along with the coaching staff and the squad will be German coach and FIFA coaches instructor, Guenter Zittel, who is in Guyana working with the GFF on a short-term Technical Football Develop-ment Project.
The squad's testing will come during two matches, the first of which will feature members of the squad playing against a National Senior Reserve selection at the McKenzie Sports Club ground on November 19, and then a second where the squad will oppose the National Senior (Digicel) team on November 21.
