Police Commissioner, commanders to meet with public on scheduled days

The Commissioner of Police and the commanders of the various divisions will meet with members of the public on specified days starting from Monday, a statement from the Guyana Police Force said yesterday.
The meeting would take place at the offices of the various officers.
Acting Commissioner of Police Henry Greene had told the media about this initiative when he addressed a gathering of private sector officials at the launching of the police anti-crime plan for the Christmas season last week Friday. Greene had indicated that the plan was all part of wide-ranging reforms taking place in the force. In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Department yesterday the force announced that in continuing efforts to improve their image and in order to foster better police/community relations, senior officers of the force will be making themselves available to meet the public in their offices on a specific day of the week. The scheduled meeting days and timings for the senior officers are as follows: Commissioner of Police Henry Greene every Tuesday from 8:30 am -10:30 am and from 2 pm - 4 pm. All meetings will take place at Police Headquarters, Eve Leary.
For the Assistant Commissioner responsible for law enforcement or Crime Chief Heralall Makhanlall, members of the public can meet with him every Thursday from 1 pm - 4 pm at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, Eve Leary. Commander 'A' Division, Paul Slowe will meet with the public every Tuesday from 10 am - 12pm and then from 1 pm - 3 pm. Meetings with Slowe will take place at his divisional Office at Brickdam. In Berbice, Commander of 'B' Division, Clinton Conway will meet with the public at his LFS Burnham Street, New Amsterdam office on Mondays from 1 pm - 4 pm. On the East Coast, 'C' Division Commander Leroy Brummel is scheduled to meet with the public every Tuesday at his Cove and John, East Coast Demerara office from 10 am to 12 pm and then from 1 pm - 4 pm. Across on the West Demerara, 'D' Division Commander Welton Trotz will meet with members of the public every Tuesday from 9 am - 11:30 am and then from 1 pm to 3 pm. All meetings will be held at his Leonora, West Coast Demerara office. Commander 'E&F' Divisions (interior locations including Linden), Krishna Lakeraj will meet members of the public on Thursdays starting from 9 am to 11 am and then from 1 pm to 3 pm. Meetings will be held at his Rabbit Walk, Eve Leary office.
In 'G' Division (Essequibo) Commander Gavin Primo will meet the public every Thursday between the hours of 1 pm - 4 pm. Meetings will be held at his divisional headquarters office at Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast. The police statement said that the system of senior officers meeting the public on a specific day of the week would commence next Monday. It is anticipated that it will be an ongoing exercise.
