Was it really a Storm? Maybe more like the calm before. however notwithstanding a less than inspiring turnout, the first Facts N' Roses project can be deemed a success in terms of the production.
The number of changes required by the line up of 30 male and female models as well as the wide array of lines made for a very interesting show that definitely piqued the appetites of the fashion faithful who proceeded to the Thirst Park venue regardless of whether they might have heard that the show was off or thought that the ground would be wet.
The nine designs showcased by the Guyanese designing giants included lines labelled 'Innocent Maybe', a line of white cotton; 'Petals', FnR's children's line; 'Safari', a khaki line inspired by explorers of the unknown; 'Tsunami', the 2007 swimsuit line featuring metallic colours; 'Ego' the male line designed with the ego in mind; 'Contrast', which can be described as a line of wearable pieces, combining colour, culture and creativity; 'Rio', the Brazilian influence line; 'Taj', a tribute to love inspired by the Taj Mahal in India; and 'Scarlet Affair', a playful, naughty line designed with a special new friend in mind which brought out the Christmas feeling with its mix of red and white. basstone@lycos.com
