51 horses for Boxing day meet at Corentyne

All systems are set at go for the Boxing Day El'dorado race meeting at the Kennard Memorial Turf Club at Corentyne, Berbice. According to a release 51 horses have been registered to kick up the dust in eight events on the track which is said to be in good condition despite some rainy weather.
The C-class race is set to feature Donna, who is making a tremendous come back after a break, winning her last two outings in convincing style. She will meet long time rivals Stop on the line, Ice Folly, Isle Be True and Sarafiena. Added to the competition is new import from Trinidad and Tobago, the Cat is Back out of the Romel Jagroop stables.
These top bred horses will be vying for the top prize of $130,000 and the Eldorado Trophy over a distance of one mile. Second, third and fourth place will receive $65,000, $32,500 and $16,000 respectively.
The two year old race has attracted entrants such as Little Pannie, winner of the last five races and Sir Balajie, Prospectors Pride, Grand Force and Matterazi. The prize for the winner over six furlongs will receive $110,000.
The field is wide open for the three year old race with Miss Davinci, Miami Vice, Shue Suemi, Va-Va-Voom and Peace of Mind all having a good chance of taking away the top prize of $110,000 and the Eric Lewis Memorial Trophy. The final feature race is the F-class race which will feature favourites Fire Power, Getting Something, Just in Time and Fresh Wings.
The other races of the day include the G-class, L-class, J-class and the I-class. El'dorado's sponsorship of the meeting is $1.5 million.
