`MOTHERS in Black’ will resume staging peaceful demonstrations opposite Public Buildings in Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown, from tomorrow.
The grouping, which had suspended such activities following the start several years ago, said the purpose of the resumption is to voice concerns on road safety issues and the protests will continue on the last Friday of every month between midday and 13:00h, unless that day is a public holiday.
A press release said road safety continues to be one of Guyana’s most serious public health issues affecting everyone and understanding and practising it is everyone’s concern.
The organisation, membership of which comprises mainly of parents and relatives of people who died in road accidents, also advised drivers not to drink and drive and to wear seatbelts and helmets at all times.
