Owner of Swiss House Cambio, Farouk Razac, and his wife, Carolan Lynch, made their fourth appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates' Court yesterday, and learnt of their trial date.
They appeared before Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys, and were told that their trial will commence on March 5.
Appearing on behalf of the couple were attorneys-at-law Nigel Hughes and Ronald Burch-Smith.
On a previous occasion, they were notified that the police would begin giving evidence in the case early this year, since they were unable to commence the trial at that time.
The charges against the couple were re-read on that occasion, and they both pleaded not guilty.
However, on the first appearance, neither was required to plead to the indictable charges. Then, Prosecutor Sergeant Deneashwar Nauth informed the court that the police were not ready to proceed with the trial, and requested a short date for the commencement of the trial.
The couple is jointly facing three gun-related charges.
Razac and Lynch were charged with unlawful possession of one automatic Beretta pistol and four 9mm magazines, and 120 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
On November 10 last, police, acting on information, swooped down on Razac's Bel Air property, where they unearthed the weapon and ammunition.
On November 13 last, Razac appeared before Magistrate Gilhuys, and was placed on $1 million bail.
His 33-year-old wife did not appear on that day, since she was hospitalised.
She appeared in court the following day, and was remanded by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle.
Her lawyers moved to the High Court on November 15, after she had spent one night on remand in the New Amsterdam Prisons, and she was granted $500,000 bail.
