Business and family commitments in the USA may definitely have to wait even as overseas-based Guyanese, John ‘Slingshot' Drepaul continues to recuperate.

Some two weeks after his Mash Day dray cart fall, the entertainer is still bedridden with three bones broken in the lower back.

Though doctors have directed that he remain in bed for at least six weeks, business and other commitments require that the singer returns to the USA at this time.

Doctors refused to allow him to leave his bed, recently, when he attempted to get permission to travel in his present condition. According to the singer, doctors refused to sign documents permitting him to travel, claiming they would not be held liable if he sustains further injury while attempting to travel to the USA .

Meanwhile, he remains in his suite at the Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel where he said he is being treated with extra care by the hotel's management.

Get well wishes, cards and flowers continue to flood the hotel, all directed to the entertainer from his many fans and supporters.

On Mash Day, the singer fell from his gaily decorated dray cart as he attempted to wave to his fans, resulting in the present injury.

There are reports that the horse pulling the dray cart became startled by the wild cheering of Drepaul's fans and reared into the air, throwing the singer on his rump.

However, he still managed to prop himself up and wave to spectators along the Mash route, with the help of Mash camp officials, his bodyguards and lyricist, Ingrid.

Meanwhile, the singer has won two second and one first prize at the Mash Day Float and Costume Parade.
