Soca DVD to create excitement for local CWC matches

A DVD titled "I can feel the Vibes" intended to prepare citizens for the Cricket World Cup (CWC) was launched on Friday.
The three-minute "infomercial" video, which is "a soca rhythm" sung by Michelle 'Big Red' King and Eddie Neblett is intended to get citizens excited about the CWC a press release from Guyenterprise said.
The company's Lorraine Harris, who wrote the lyrics for the song said, "I don't think Guyanese people are aware of just how big this event will be…That is one reason why I wrote the song, the other reason is …to give them a sense of pride and purpose." Harris said Guyana will be on show to the world and "we must let our beauty be exposed to the fullest." The video and song also promote cleaning up the environment. Some of the lyrics include: "This time is we time, a dream made in heaven. World Cup Cricket in Guyana 2007."
Guyenterprise said persons who contributed their services to the making of the video are Clive Lloyd, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Allan La Rose, dancers from the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha and the National School of Dance, members of the Demerara Cricket Club and workers from the Mayor and City Council. The song is expected to be played on the radio and in the events leading up to Mashramani and the video will be aired on all interested television channels.
The video was launched on the National Communications Network's Early Morning show.
