Instead of falling asleep during long-winded debates parliamentarians can now surf the internet as wireless internet connectivity (WiFi) has been installed in the Parliamentary Chamber and in the MPs' Lounge.
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Clarissa Riehl said yesterday that the facility was installed just this week. This has made Parliament one of Guyana's latest 'hotspots'.
She said that any MP who has difficulty accessing the wireless internet should make contact with the Clerk of the National Assembly.
Leader of the Opposition Robert Corbin was seen browsing the web with his laptop - sans telephone cable - while in the Chamber yesterday.
