The Sidewalk Film Club ends March with Quinceañera.

According to the club, Quinceañera tells the story of Magdalena who is 14 and anxiously awaiting her 15th birthday when she'll celebrate her quinceañera. Her world starts to crumble when she discovers she is pregnant after not being able to fit in her gown for her quinceañera.

Magdalena is kicked out of her home, abandoned by her family and abandoned by her baby's father. She is then taken in by her great-granduncle Tomas and her often-in-trouble cousin, Carlos. There she finds a new family and life.

Quinceañera, which won the Humanitas and the Independent Spirits awards at the Sundance Film Festival, celebrates the overcoming of personal tragedy and the triumph of love in family. It will be shown on Tuesday at Sidewalk Café starting at 7.30 pm.
