1,000 students to see world cup matches

One thousand secondary school students will be given the chance of a lifetime since the Ministry of Education and the Cricket World Cup Local Organising Committee have agreed to allow them to attend some matches at the stadium.
According to a press release from the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education students will be allowed to view matches on April 3, 7 and 9 under the following conditions: they must be attired in full school uniform; they must be accompanied by teachers in the ratio of one teacher to 20 students and teachers must carry identification, such as a letter from their school, to uplift the tickets at the stadium at Providence.
The ministry said head teachers are asked to communicate with the assistant chief education officer of the secondary division on telephone numbers 223-6406 and 226-8812. The ministry also said transportation for the teachers and students, to and from the stadium, is the responsibility of the school.
