The Umana Yana was the spot to be on March 31 as national and international models accentuating the essence in elegance bloomed like all kinds of rare flowers never seen before World Cup 2007 as they hung wardrobes of casually feisty clothing for seven rising designers.

Featuring a red and white theme, Cacique Promotions and Ahmad Group of Companies literally rolled out the red carpet for the 'Evening of Elegance and Fashion'. March 31 was one of 11 nights of entertainment hosted at the Kingston venue and it saw all seats taken as guests were entertained by a wide array of contemporary, comfortable and ultimately cutting-edge clothing.

The designers, all boasting expansive accomplishments were Hugh Johnson, Roger Gary, Dereck Moore, Olympia Sonaram, Francis Hendy, Facts 'n' Roses and Yardman Style.

International names such as Nadine Willis, the face of Gucci, and Bobby Roache added to the hype. The female models as usual were undeniably delectable while the fellows provided some eye-candy for the ladies, who had their sessions of ooohs, aaahs. Except for the low point where an impromptu speech making session stretched too long, the event seemed to have captured an element of class. basstone@lycos.com
