Miss Linden Town Week to be crowned tonight

One of ten beautiful young Linden residents will tonight wear the Miss Linden Town Week crown.
On Thursday night the ten delegates faced judges in the intelligence segment of the pageant. How well or poorly they did will be revealed tonight when the scores are released as the media were not allowed to attend the intelligence segment.
The judges, Mrs Pearson, Derick Alphonso, Godwin Edwards, Valerie Sharpe and June Cumberbatch, are all Lindeners. The Scene has learned that instead of the usual question and answer format, the judges engaged the contestants in conversations about their platforms, thus testing their conversational skills.
The ten delegates are: Rushanna Odetta Nedd, 18, who is a student of the Linden Computer College. Rushana resides at North Blueberry Hill, Wismar and her platform is Silvertown.
Eighteen-year-old Veronica Branker is a seamstress of Central Amelia's Ward and her platform is Central Amelia's Ward.
Toncia Tomeka Mackenzie is 17 years old and a student of the Linden Technical Institute (LTI). She lives at Blue Berry Hill, which is also her platform.
Shanette Douglas is 20 and lives at Burnham Drive, which is also her platform. She is also at student at LTI.
Another 18-year-old LTI student, Saskia Sancho chose as her platform West Watooka, where she lives.
Rufina Allicock, who is 20, and currently a student at the University of Guyana has chosen Speightland as her platform.
At 18, Leona Milling is employed with the Ministry of Finance and has chosen her residential area Wismar Housing Scheme as her platform.
Kevaun Rashanna Major, is an 18 year-old student of the Critchlow Labour College, who has as her platform, Victory Valley, Wismar where she lives.
Alicia Loncke, who represents Blueberry Hill Squatting Area is 20.
At 24, Ashanti Mattias works at a fast-food restaurant and represents Central Mackenzie.
Meanwhile, the Big and Beautiful Fashion Show was also held on Thursday night and the models displayed casual and evening wear and swimsuits. The film Old House pun Old House premiered last night and there was reunion of the members of the former Linden-based Cannonballs band.
Last night saw the 'Colours' party and on Thursday the promoters of the party donated school supplies to the children of the Christianburg Secondary School.
The Linden street fair is scheduled for tomorrow to mark Linden Town Day and the activities will culminate with the Glow party and Interna-tional Washdown tomorrow night.
